Fully established in 2017, Amethyst Consulting Ltd. is a growing agency that
operates on an associate team member model. Similarly, our market research services

Ms. Sharon Mbugua
Managing Director
Sharon has a combined 6 years’ entrepreneurial and over 12 years’ full and part time employment experience in leading multinational companies such as BAT, EABL and Milward Brown. Her experience is primarily in the fields of market research and sales. She is a Psychology and Business Management graduate and an MBA student and in addition to market research expertise, she is a professional recruitment assessment, first level executive coach and a Hogan Work Personality practitioner. Her core market research competencies are in retail, product and professional services.
Mr. Ndungu Muigua
Associate Technical Design and Projects Lead
Ndungu has 10 years’ market research experience with a further 7 years accumulated experience in Finance, Sales and Marketing. He has a wealth of experience in applying mixed methodologies i.e. both qualitative and quantitative approaches in the business, social and impact fields. Ndungu has conducted over 100 research studies across different markets in Africa. Ndungu has an MBA, and is considered by many to be a “problem solver.” He has an exemplary record of delivering on the technical design of research scrutiny including quality control input, data analysis, moderation, in-depth interviews, ethnographies and overall report writing.
Mr. Samuel Machio
Associate Field Manager
Samuel Machio is an experienced reseach field manager with experience in resource and team management, project supervision and project quality assurance since 2005. His hands on experience extends to various fieldwork projects such as computer aided telephone interviewing, retail audit, focus groups and observation research methods of practice. He has worked for USAID, Safaricom and FSD among other organisations.
Mr. Fredrick Ojigo
ASSOCIATE MONITORING AND EVALUATION LEAD
Fredrick Ojigo is an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Management specialist with 10+ years of experience. He has actively participated in the development and implementation of M&E Systems, M&E Plans, M&E Frameworks and M&E data collection tools for various organizations. His M&E approaches include outcome mapping and harvesting as well as Participatory Video/ Most Significant Change (PV/MSC) for USAID and EU programs to ensure achievement of desired results. He has also capacity built project teams and partners on M&E fundamentals and data quality standards. Fred also has vast experience in conducting project evaluations (Baseline, Midline, Endline, Distribution Monitoring (PDMs), etc) and creating learnings from shared Collaborating, Learning and Adaptations (CLA) and Learning sessions. Fred has worked for Mercy Corps, Concern Worldwide, HealthRight International and Heifer International among other organizations.
Mr. Denis Kipchirchir
Associate Analyst
Denis Kipchirchir is an accomplished research and consulting professional with 6+years of industry experience. He excels in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights through expertise in data wrangling, visualization, and advanced analytical methods. Over time, Denis has refined his ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and provide data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making. His contributions span various organisations such as UNDP (ABC - Africa subdivision) and Habitat for Humanity, where he has played a key role in delivering impactful research and tailored client solutions. In addition to his core analytical expertise, Denis possesses a strong background in machine learning and predictive modeling, enabling him to address complex challenges and enhance operational efficiency. His passion for leveraging data to drive meaningful outcomes fuels his commitment to innovation and excellence in research, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field.
